Helicopter Sheet Metal Mechanic (15G)- Transitioning Service Members
SkyBridge Aviation is seeking motivated Helicopter Sheet Metal Mechanics to support sheet metal fabrication, repair, and maintenance operations on rotary-wing aircraft. This opportunity is designed for transitioning service members and veterans with helicopter, airframe, or sheet metal experience who are looking to move into the civilian aviation industry. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Helicopter Sheet Metal Mechanic supports sheet metal repair and maintenance of helicopter airframes and components. This role includes fabrication, repair, and modification of aircraft skins, panels, and structural sheet metal to ensure aircraft safety, integrity, and airworthiness. Candidates may come from flightline, production, modification, or heavy maintenance environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform sheet metal and structural repairs on helicopter airframes and components
- Assist with removal and replacement of damaged skins, panels, fasteners, and structural assemblies
- Support drilling, riveting, fitting, trimming, and basic fabrication tasks
- Assist with structural inspections and corrosion prevention and treatment
- Read and interpret basic technical data, repair manuals, and drawings
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment in support of structural work
- Maintain safe work practices and follow quality and maintenance procedures
- Document work performed in accordance with maintenance requirements
- Support team-based maintenance and modification activities
- Army 15G Aircraft Structural Repairer
- Air Force Aircraft Structural Maintenance
- Marine Corps Airframes
- Navy Airframes AM rating
- Other helicopter or aircraft structural maintenance experience
- Military or civilian aircraft sheet metal, airframe, or structural experience preferred
- Helicopter experience helpful but not required
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a team-oriented maintenance environment
- Ability to read basic technical data or willingness to learn
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Rotary wing aircraft experience such as UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, UH-1, or similar platforms
- Depot, heavy maintenance, modification, or production experience
- Corrosion control or structural repair experience
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand for extended periods in hangar or maintenance environments
